Mentor Training

If you are considering becoming a youth mentor, you may wonder what it’s all about. Training is an important part of becoming a mentor. FMP offers FREE monthly Mentor Training and Orientation sessions on all aspects of mentoring, designed to provide you with information and tools that will help you become a great mentor. The menu on the left includes some materials from the FMP training manual, which may help you decide if becoming a mentor is the right choice for you.

If you need help deciding which of the more than three dozen programs in Fairfax County is right for you (see Mentoring Programs in Fairfax County), contact our Mentoring Specialist, Kristen Brennan, at Kristen.Brennan@fairfaxcounty.gov. We'll send you a questionnaire asking which part of the county you work and live in, and what kinds of mentoring you're most interested in, and then we'll assist you in finding the right program.

Each One, Teach One!
